Rincoe Mechman Kit Review

Rincoe is no strangers to vaping. Thanks to the unique styling of their Manto S and Manto Mini-mods, they have been quite popular among vapers. Who doesn’t like a cool looking mod? The newest addition to their lineup is the Mechman 228W kit and it’s just as enticing and customizable as the rest.

The outside of the Mechman comes in three different stylings and there are three different choices of panel designs. But you can also remove the panels and replace the sticker with a custom-printed panel of your choice for added personal flare.

So it looks cool — but how does it perform? In this review, I’m going to go over everything you need to know about the Rincoe Mechman kit and you can decide for yourself if it’s worth picking up.

Overview

The Mechman gets it name from it’s all-metal, mechanical looking design. As a whole, it’s a pretty good looking kit. It’s not too heavy though, even with the batteries installed. You can get the mod in either black or silver with three different chassis styles: Steel Case, Steel Wings or Steel Bones. You can also get each style in four different panel designs: camouflage, American flag, Union flag or a mean looking wolf.

The mod is powered by dual 18650 batteries and fires at up to 228W in power mode. It has power mode, bypass mode, temperature control mode and TCR. As far as a menu goes, it doesn’t have one but this keeps the mod simple and easy to use.

The kit comes with the Mechman sub-ohm tank. It’s a 28mm tank made of stainless steel that uses a wide 810 resin drip tip. It comes with a 4.5ml capacity bubble glass and includes two different mesh coils. You get a 0.20ohm and a 0.25ohm coil with the kit.

My first impressions of the Mechman kit are pretty good. It looks good and feels good to hold. The 228W output is higher than most mods I’ve got a chance to review. Plus, it comes with some decent-looking mesh coils. We’ll see how it holds up.

Design & Build Quality

The Mechman is a nice size for a dual battery mod. It’s not too tall and not too wide. It’s got rounded edges that make it comfortable to hold and it fit in my hand very comfortably. The body of the device is also made entirely of metal so it’s pretty durable. I got the black “Steel Wings” style of the mod for this review and the mechanical design is pretty cool — it looks very modern and clean. I got a number of compliments while using the mod from other fellow vapers and they all wanted to know where they could get one. That’s a really good sign in terms of design.

The American flag front panel is also very neat. If you’re from the U.S and looking to show your patriotism with a vape mod then this is definitely the one to do it with. But what’s neat about this mod is that you’re able to remove the “Steel Wings” that cover the front panel (provided you have access to a small torx screwdriver) and put a sticker of your choice underneath. I haven’t gotten around to printing off a “Versed Vaper” panel but it’s definitely on my to-do list. I haven’t seen another mod that allows you to do something like this so it’s definitely unique.

The back panel of the Mechman is a removable battery door. It’s magnetically attached and pulls off just like most other dual battery mods. This panel is similar in design to the front, with the Steel Wings, however you can’t remove the screws to insert a custom design. It’s got a grid-style pattern that matches the rest of the mod though so I have no complaints.

The 510 is centered and in my books that’s always a good thing; it makes the mod look much nicer with a tank installed. There are three buttons: a rocker-style firing button and two smaller adjustment buttons. The fire button takes the perfect amount of pressure to press and isn’t too light. The adjustment buttons are also the same pressure-wise and feel just as firm and well-built.

The screen is large on the Mechman mod and the readouts are clear. It’s a black and white screen, not color, but that isn’t too big of a deal. There’s no way to adjust the brightness, but even outdoors I found it bright enough to see. Just under the screen and the buttons is a micro-USB port for firmware updates and charging. If you’re in a pickle this device does support pass-thru charging and that’s a pro.

Mechman Mesh Sub-Ohm Tank

The Mechman tank is 28mm in diameter. It matches the mod and uses a bubble glass that gives it a 4.5ml max capacity. In case you break the glass, the kit includes a spare identical glass which I rate. It’s got a wide 810 drip tip made of resin that is pretty nice but it’s also interchangeable with most other 810’s.

Like most other tanks on the market the Mechman tank is top filled and uses push-to-fill. It’s firm enough that it’s not going to open up in your pocket but easy enough to open without too much effort — it’s a happy medium. There’s a silicone gasket that surrounds the fill port to prevent leaking as well.

The airflow on the Mechman consists of two wide slots that are fully adjustable. They can be opened or closed according to your preference but it’s still going to be a direct-to-lung draw no matter how you position it. As opposed to the top cap, I found the airflow a bit too difficult to turn. It’s very tight so I found myself unscrewing the tank from the mod when trying to adjust it. It did loosen up a bit over time but I would of preferred the airflow control ring to be a bit easier to adjust.

Included with the kit are two mesh coils of different resistances. There’s a 0.20ohm dual mesh coil rated for 50-80W as well as a 0.25ohm single mesh coil rated for 40-60W. I got surprisingly good flavor and clouds out of both of these but I’ll go over their performance in depth a little later.

Features & Functions

This mod fires quite a bit higher than most other mods on the market. In power mode you get up to 228W of output. It uses Rincoe’s in-house chip for regulation which comes with a bunch of safety features built-in. It’s got overheating protection, low voltage protection, short-circuit/overload protection, reverse battery protection as well as a 10 second cut off if you fire the mod for too long.

For firing modes you get Power mode, Bypass Mode, Temperature Control mode and TCR. This is pretty much all you need, but if you’re looking for variable voltage you’re not going to find it with this mod.

The UI displays your battery charge level, set mode, wattage, puff time, resistance and output voltage. It’s a bit of an old-school looking design but it works to provide the information that you need about your vape. This mod is also simple and straightforward to use because there is no menu.

Button Combinations

Switch Modes: Press the fire button three times and use the adjustment buttons.

Lock the Device: Hold the + adjustment button and firing button.

Change Wattage in TC Mode: Hold the – adjustment button and firing button, then use the adjustment buttons to change the wattage. Press fire to confirm.

Performance

I tested the Mechman mod using the included Mechman tank and both mesh coils. I also tested the mod using the Hellvape Hellbeast as well as with the Bonza V1.5 RDA. Performance wise, this kit is pretty good.

The Mechman mod is pretty impressive. I didn’t have a need, nor the coils, to push it past 150W so I didn’t get to test it at 228W. However, while it lacks a more advanced menu, it works great in power mode all the way up to 150W; it certainly felt like it was delivering the correct wattage. Additionally, the mod was really good at reading the resistance of my atomizers correctly.

On the temperature control side of things, the Mechman is like most mods: mediocre. I didn’t find that it was delivering the right temperature and instead it felt like it was way too cool of a vape when set at 450°F. I had to turn it up to around 520°F in order to get what felt like the correct vape of 450°F. I would steer clear of this mod if you’re planning on using it for temperature control.

Another thing to note about this mod is its Bypass mode. With the 0.23ohm coil that came included, Bypass mode fires at 183W! While most other regulated mods will limit the voltage, Rincoe have told me that this mod is unrestricted with its Bypass. This means that you get the full voltage output of both batteries on a full charge which is not very useful to be honest. The reason most other mods limit the wattage output in Bypass is so that you can actually vape at a reasonable level, not singe your lips off! Unless you like burning your coils, I wouldn’t use Bypass mode with this mod as it ends up outputting wattages/voltages that are way too high for your coils to handle.

The Mechman sub-ohm tank with the 0.25 single mesh coil was alright in terms of flavor. It wasn’t bad at all but it definitely isn’t the best coil that I’ve used. The flavor was good and the clouds were also decent. However, it didn’t bring out the full flavor in my ejuices and this was a bit disappointing. The 0.20ohm dual mesh coil on the other hand was much better. I was vaping it at from 75-85W and the flavor was very on-point and on-par with some of the better sub-ohm tanks that I’ve used. It actually exceeded my expectations for a kit-included tank. I really enjoyed using the dual mesh coil with this tank and it made the whole kit a quite enjoyable experience.

Using the Hellbeast sub-ohm tank with the Mechman mod was very good. It delivered an accurate power output and vaped really well. The same can be said about the Bonza V1.5. I used 0.2ohm fused claptons and it fired and vaped marvelously.

Lastly, I’m going to end this on another positive note. The battery efficiency of this mod is really, really good. The Rincoe chip seems to sip power. Even when vaping at higher wattages it still lasted me about two days on average before I had to recharge. Where I usually average a day or less with most other dual battery mods at the same wattages, I’m not sure what kind of magic is going on here. However, I’m not going to complain!

Verdict

Overall, the Mechman kit is a good pickup for wattage mode vapers. The form factor is really nice and comparatively lightweight. Plus, the ability to swap our the panels for your own custom designs is something I’ve never seen before. This added personalization is really cool and I definitely rate it. It’s an awesome looking mod, that’s for sure!

The included Mechman sub-ohm tank functions well with the dual mesh coil and provides good flavor. Wattage mode works great and the battery efficiency of the mod is also notably good. However, for temperature control mode vapers I would suggest another mod.

Onevape Lambo Pod Kit Review

The Onevape Lambo is a tiny Pod system aimed at those giving up smoking, or for the more advance vaper who wants to carry around a second device.

onevape lambo pod kit hand

The Lambo Series is reported to be a high end pod system e-cigarette.

So who are OneVape? To be honest I’d never heard of them until I did some digging around! OneVape are based in Los Angeles California USA and Shenzhen China, they have dual head quarters enabling them to design and manufacture their products.

They don’t have many products at the moment and those they do are pod systems, the Nano Series as well as the Lambo Series.

So what do we think of the Onevape Lambo Pod? Let’s find out with an up and close look…………………

This Kit was sent to us for the purpose of review. As always my thoughts and views are my own.

Lambo Pods

The kit comes with 2 plastic bottom fill pods! 1 pre installed and 1 in the box, onevape lambo pod kit pdThe coils in each pod is rated at 1.6Ω and holds 2 ml of e-liquid, it is recommended a high PG liquid is used in the pods; however I have been using a 70/30 liquid without any trouble. It will also work well with nicotine salt e-liquid.

How Does the Lambo Pod Kit Perform?

For this review I have filled the pod with 3 mg “Blueberry Waffle” from Vintage Vaping.onevape lambo pod kit juice

Wattage

I’m not very good at determining what wattage a pod system fires at LOL but according to the OneVape website the device fires at 7 to 12w, which produces a fair Mouth to Lung (MTL) vape with good flavour.

I am able to get a very restricted Direct to Lung (DTL vape) which in turn produces a good amount of vapour and fair flavour but this is designed to be used as an MTL device so I recommend it be used as such.onevape lambo pod kit 1st puff

Pods

In the instructional manual that comes with the kit they say it is recommend you change the pod after 5 refills, so far in the week and a half I have been testing the kit I have only filled it twice lol, I would say that the pods have a fairly good life with MTL style of vape.

The pods have a circulating convection air passage that resists reverse air intake and are sold separately at around £9 for 2 pods.onevape lambo pod kit full

Battery

The 360 mAh internal battery is designed so that from a full charge you will get 270 puffs, I overlooked this the first time I charged the unit and did not count the puffs LOL.

I will tell you that the Onevape Lambo did last an entire day with MTL before needing a charge, I used the device exclusively for that day 8am until 5pm, 8hrs on a single charge is very good, so I will say the battery is long lasting!onevape lambo pod kit hide

Final Review Verdict

I’m not normally stuck for words about a product but in the case of the OneVape Lambo series pod kit I am! I really cannot find much to complain about with this kit if anything really.

The kit is fairly cheap and functions well, it’s ideal as a first e-cigarette or even as a second/spare carry around mod for those users that have more experience.

The airflow is fine, maybe a little loose for my liking but as I said above I’m able to get a restricted DTL vape.

Would I buy the Onevape Lambo Series Pod Kit should I lose or destroy the one I have? Not for me personally, I wouldn’t miss it.

Think Vape Finder 167W – “inglorious” hit

Today, without any time machine, I will move you to the “distant” 2016, and, more precisely, it was almost a new year. Just then this “worthy” copy was born, for some reason completely forgotten on our portal. This is a gross injustice to him, so we rather get to know each otheragain – Think Vape Finder 167W .

By the way, here you looked at the photo now, but most likely you have already seen it before. Reminds Therion DNA75 Therion DNA75 isnot it … And the most interesting, the release of our hero and Lost Vape Therion 166 Lost Vape Therion 166 took place almost simultaneously … As one TV host said – Coincidence? I do not think.

I think at the moment there is no point in discussing the possibility of DNA board, everyone knows that she is worth her money. So we will discuss only the external individual characteristics of the box mod.

The design is now classic, the progenitor in the face of Therion DNA75 is easily recognized. Very good form factor, so loved by the public. But still, you know, I prefer this device. Somehow he looks easier, more pleasant to the eye, not so overloaded with geometric elements or something.
Think Vape Finder 167W -
There is also a genuine leather insert, as an element of “prestige”. The only thing that “strains” me here is the fire button, which is incomprehensible for which is decorated with a “mother-of-pearl” insert. As for the rest, I will stay with my own opinion, everything is “perfect” here.
Think Vape Finder 167W -
Atomic landing is excellent, except that the landing site is too marking.

The side panel is also removable, movable, access to the batteries is excellent, and the ribbon is not forgotten.

And here the question arises – why the users like Therion 166 so much, and our hero did not feel the gravity of the laurel wreath. Is it all depends only on the marketing program? After all, the price is clearly lower for him …

Joyetech UNIMAX 25 Review

Joyetech UNIMAX 25 Full Review

As part of Joyetech’s ongoing effort to maintain its status as one of the world’s premiere vaping companies, producing some of the best vape pens on the market, it is continually developing new products that push the technological and performance envelope. Its new Joyetech UNIMAX 25 offering is another step in that direction, offering a cutting-edge pen-style product that should have vaping enthusiasts cheering in their seats. That is if you can believe the hype that surrounds that product. In this Joyetech UNIMAX 25 starter kit review, we’ll examine the product to see if it can even begin to live up to our lofty expectations.

The Rundown

The UNIMAX 25 offers a streamlined appearance that makes it one of the sleeker, more portable devices I’ve seen in some time. Its outward appearance is elegant and fairly nondescript, but you can alter it with the provided stickers. There are various color themes from which to choose, and some of them have textures as well. It’s an interesting little feature that should appeal to anyone interested in customizing his or her device to match apparel, mood, or personal style.

The complete kit of the Joyetech UNIMAX 25

The device has that TFTA system that you’ve probably already heard about. It’s top-fill and top-airflow, and it’s one of the main selling points for those who want maximum control over their device for sub-ohm vaping. The top-focused design helps to guard against leaks, since any airflow adjustments are done well above the juice, reducing the chances for any leakage. And, of course, vapers tend to prefer the top-fill option, as is usually makes for a less messy filling process.

The starter kit comes with a 3000mAh battery that takes up about two-thirds of the cylinder. It’s designed to provide just the output you need for your vaping sessions. The device’s tank should come as a pleasant surprise for many – especially if they’re buying products made for the European market. While many companies have begun to focus on limiting product tank sizes to the 2-ml required to meet EU guidelines, this Joyetech product ignores that tiny capacity and opts for a much larger 5 ml tank. Good for them. The smaller tank limitations don’t really accomplish anything, anyway – other than placing more burdens on companies and causing annoyance for vapers.

Focus On www.urvapin.com For More Vape Start Kit.

Performance Capacity

The testing reveals that this device can achieve 40 watts of power when you’re using a 0.5-ohm coil. The company notes that you can achieve output between the 20 to 40-watt range. The battery cell can handle resistance ranging from 0.15 to 3.5 ohms, of course, but you should shoot for that 0.5-ohm level. That’s where the magic happens especially if you’re looking to vaping to quit smoking. From a power standpoint, this is not the most powerful device we’ve ever seen – but there’s power and then there’s useful power. The larger question is whether the UNIMAX 25 can deliver enough power to provide the vaping experience its users are seeking.

Dimension of the Joyetech UNIMAX 25

On that front, there are no worries. While we didn’t manage to generate any room-filling clouds of vapor, we did achieve nice, the thick vapor that was filled with our e-juice flavor. More importantly, those results were consistent throughout several vaping sessions, with no overheating, dry hits, or other uncomfortable effects. That’s the type of power we like to see.

It’s also important to note that the device is designed to be compatible with a variety of coils, and has the standard 24 mm tank design so many users are already familiar with. It’s also compatible with any standard 510 drip tip so that you can change out the Delrin drip tip if you find it to be less than useful.

Finally, let’s not fail to note this little gem: the device is designed for direct-to lung inhalation. That’s critical to remember since you do want to evaluate it in terms of its intended use to ensure that your comparisons are accurate. In our opinion, it’s one of the top e-cigarettes for lung hits we’ve seen.

Parameters of the UNIMAX 25

Putting it all Together

This device seems to have it all, especially when you consider that you can get the entire starter kit package for just under $40 online. So, is it worth it? Well, that depends on what you’re looking for. If you want a product that offers a safe and clean way to enjoy your vapor without the undue mess, then this could be the device you need. If you’re looking for another high-end, fully-customizable device that you can rebuild to your heart’s content, then look elsewhere. This device is clearly designed for vapers who want a high-capacity tank to provide them with hours of nonstop vaping pleasure.

Vandy Vape Kylin RTA V2 Review | Postless Deck Made Easy

Product intro

The Kylin RTA was one of Vandy Vape’s most popular tanks to date. Based on its success, they released the Kylin Mini, which was also a big hit. Today we are looking at the Kylin V2, the latest update in the Kylin line-up. It features a few updates to the original, while maintaining a familiar design and aesthetic.

The tank features the same post-less “halfpipe-style” deck from the V1, but with an updated airflow design. It also utilizes a new top-filling system that snaps open to reveal a big fill port. The Kylin series is best known for its great flavor, so let’s find out whether or not this has been improved on the version 2.

Build quality and design

Vandy Vape Kylin V2 RTA

The Kylin V2 is 24 mm in diameter and holds 3 mL with the straight glass tube, or 5 mL with the 26 mm extension. It holds almost as much as the V1 with the extended glass, while maintaining a low-profile design. It also allows your coils to sit a little bit closer to your mouthpiece, which is another big plus.

Overall it feels well machined, the threading is very smooth. I didn’t have any issues taking the tank apart for cleaning and building. The Kylin V2 includes a Goon-style resin drip tip that’s compatible with my Half Moon drip tips, and has a similar look to it. It comes with a wider black mouthpiece and a 510 drip tip adapter.

The Kylin now has a sliding top-fill mechanism. It takes a bit of force to get it fully open, but it makes a nice snapping sound when you do. It doesn’t seem to shut with the same authority. Be sure to close it all the way, without leaving a lip on the edge. The tank has a small engraved dot on the top to indicate where it opens, but I found it very hard to locate even in good lighting, which was a bummer. On the Vandy Vape website, the final production model is pictured with a more visible arrow on top instead.

I like the matte black finish on the one that I received, and some of the other color options look nice too. I’m not in love with the overall aesthetics, but it has a gear-style textured design that reminds me of the old Twisted Messes RDA, which is cool. I can’t complain, it has a simplistic design that I do appreciate.

Build deck

Vandy Vape Kylin V2 RTA

Vandy Vape is sticking with a cambered-style deck. It has a U-shape, similar to a skateboard ramp. The design is postless, and accommodates both single and dual coil configurations nicely, with the coils sitting right in the center. The deck has four strong hex screws on each corner of the deck, just like the new Phobia V2 RDA. They both have a similar postless build deck that is good for trapping your leads.

The wicking slots appear to be rather slim. I’m guessing the wicking for this device is going to be very particular in order to get the right performance. The tank comes with some beefy fused claptons, so I’ll need just the right amount of cotton to go through them, tapering them down into the wick ports.

Vandy Vape Kylin V2 RTA

The coil cutting tool is to key for quick coil installation. It actually cut a few minutes off the coil-building process. The tool has a sticker on it to indicate the perfect length for this particular deck. I took the coils included with the tank, and snipped them accordingly. It’s a brilliant idea that Vandy Vape now includes this tool with all their devices that have postless decks, to make them more accessible. Then I just placed the coils in the slots and tightened up the hex screws while gently holding them in place. The grub screws did a great job trapping the wire, and the overall process was easy and quick.

Wicking the device did take some trial and error. You’ll want to use a good amount of cotton to fill up the coils, but you have to cut them at an angle before tucking them into the slots. I did experience some dry hits when I first started using the Kylin V2, but after some practice, it was wicking without any problems. Fluffing your cotton helps, but more importantly, just don’t overstuff those wicking ports. Also, if you don’t use enough cotton, you’ll get some spitback and possible leakage from the bottom airflow slots.

Performance

Vandy Vape Kylin V2 RTA

Initially I was having some issues with dry hits, and I was not happy. It turns out it was the e-juice I was using. It had a ton of sweetener in it, and wasn’t doing very well at 60 watts with 0.15 ohm dual coils. I had better luck at 50 watts, but I wasn’t really able to chain vape it with the airflow wide open. I decided to switch it out for one with less sweetener, and with a similar PG/VG ratio. It started wicking much better, and I was able to chain vape it at 60 watts, no problem — even with the airflow maxed out.

The tank seems to be running through e-juice incredibly fast using the stock coils. I can almost count on my fingers the amount of puffs I can take until it’s time to fill. The Kylin V2 doesn’t wick down to the last drop either, it starts to give you dry hits if you don’t fill it up in time, which comes faster than you think. Just keep an eye on it. Make sure to close the airflow holes when filling and never leave the top open, or it can start to leak from the bottom.

Once I got the wicking just right, the performance was on point. I am getting a very saturated vape from this tank — it’s juicy! The vapor is warm, condensed and flavorful, especially using a dual-coil setup. It still performed well in single coil mode, but puts out a lot more flavor in a dual coil configuration. The tank can accommodate coils with a 3.5 mm ID, I wouldn’t go much bigger despite its large chimney.

I played around a bit with the coil placement but it didn’t have a huge impact on the overall performance. I liked having the dual coils right the middle, above the airflow and as close as possible without touching. The clouds it produced were dense and thick, the kind that slowly drift to the floor. It chucks for sure. I would classify this as more of a flavor chasing tank, but it does great with clouds too.

Airflow

Vandy Vape Kylin V2 RTA

The airflow on the Kylin V2 is incredibly smooth. It provides enough airflow for clouds while maintaining very saturated flavor. It still has a bit of restrictiveness, even at its widest setting, which I like. The deck has a bevelled insert that directs the airflow up through the center of the deck, right beneath your coils. It looks like it’s made out of ceramic, but there is no official word from Vandy Vape on the material used.

I think the slight restriction is caused by the deck, because it has narrow airflow slots, instead of the four big holes on the original. This also contributes to the smoothness of the draw, which is noticeable. Closing off the airflow halfway gives you a smooth restrictive lung hit, with warm condensed flavor. The Kylin V2 puts out more than enough airflow for the mid to high wattage output range.

Pros / Cons

  • Saturated flavor
  • Easy to build
  • Easy top-fill
  • Smooth airflow
  • Nice resin drip tip
  • Single/dual coil compatible
  • Dense cloud production
  • Must close airflow when filling
  • Wicking requires precision

Verdict

With all things considered, the Kylin V2 is a solid RTA. It’s well constructed and comes with all the extra bells and whistles like a coil-cutting tool, a cool resin drip tip and some nice fused Claptons. I wouldn’t recommend it to a beginner vaper because of the wicking situation, but I would to the more experienced builders and flavor chasers. You might not nail it down right away, but when you do, it’s flavor for days!

If you already own the original Kylin RTA, this may just be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for. The V2 has a more modern look and comes with improved performance. It’s a nice overall value, especially considering the price. If you’re looking for a low-profile rebuildable tank with awesome flavor, and you have some experience with wicking RTAs, then you are going to appreciate this tank. The company Hotcig is again on the front pages of our portal. Most recently, they presented an outstanding AIO set and now they rolled out a single can mod. It is noteworthy that the developers did not load this new product with “useless” non-service in order to cut down more on the release. But quite the contrary, they gave the user the right to independently choose the best option without overpayment for what he will not use.

Review: Hotcig RSQ 80W BF

The box RSQ 80W BF Hotcig is a  box electronic BF  very well done and pleasant to use, but its connection is too short and its perfectible electronics. It can be excellent or average depending on the use we have.

The finishes are excellent

The box RSQ 80W BF is marketed by Hotcig but it is the moderator Rig Mod , whose logo occupies all the back of the box, we owe its design. The realization is really neat, and finishes significantly above what its price would leave a priori think. The adjustments are clean, the box is made of solid metal that immediately inspires confidence. The weight feels a little, with 154 g on the scale, but remains quite reasonable and ultimately contributes to the impression of robustness of the box.

The design of the front is sober and classic, with buttons that have no play, which is rare enough to be appreciated. The monochrome screen has a small retro side, but especially it is particularly matte and contrasted, which allows it to remain legible even in the sun.

The door provides access to the battery compartment 18650 and the bottle, it is well maintained with 2 huge magnets. She has a small game in his home, as is very often the case but it is thick and very solid. There is no tab to remove the battery, but the notch to pass the finger down the battery is effective as you do not have the hands of lumberjack.

No door against the back, the chassis is closed. The RSQ logo in relief is clear and its edges blurred make the contact very pleasant, without the least roughness. The USB connection makes it possible to connect the box to a computer to modify the logo on the screen, and to put the software of the box up to date.

Technical Review

The Essential Features of Hotcig Box RSQ 80W BF

Type of material BF electronic mod
Dimensions 79 mm out of 48 out of 25
Weight 154 g
Drums 1 18650 battery not supplied
Power from 1 to 80 W
Temperature control Ni200, Ti , stainless steel, TCR
Bottle 7 ml

The box includes

Box RSQ 80W BF (x1), bottle (x2), USB cord (x1), user manual (x1)

The bottle lights up

Good surprise when we turn on the box, it has a LED that illuminates the bottle. The aesthetic effect is quite successful, and it makes it very easy to see the level of liquid remaining in the bottle whatever the lighting conditions. It can also be seen as a useless gadget, in which case a menu can turn it off or choose the color of the light. I admit to being completely hermetic to the loupiotes who give the impression of being in Las Vegas as soon as one tries to vape, but it is far from being the case here and I left this little effect finally useful.

The menu to adjust the LED is a bit like all the ergonomics of this electronics, very little intuitive. It is accessed by locking the setting buttons by pressing + and – at the same time, then pressing the release button and + at the same time. If you had guessed it, you have a rare gift. The first series also had a bug that reset the LED at each battery change, it has been fixed and it is no longer useful to update the box for this. On the other hand, the key lock is reset. As I told you, unintuitive menus …

The RSQ 80W BF comes with two 7ml bottles, one in plastic and the other in silicone to suit all tastes. These are ordinary bottles with a diameter of 18.5 mm and a total height of 49.5 mm, it is easy to replace them with its preferred model if desired.

The connection is too short

With such a table, the design of the connection 510 becomes anything but understandable. This is of course a positive stud mounted on spring, but it is ridiculously short! Certainly the spring stroke is correct, but with only 3.3 mm between the positive pin at rest and the edge of the connection, this is not enough with the atomizers that have a long connection. With the Alcatraz RDA for example, we are far from being flush , there is a good half-millimeter between the base of the dripper and the box.

It must be put into perspective, the majority of atomizers are flush. But not all, and it’s really annoying on a box otherwise really well thought! A dripper flush has a positive effect on the morale of the maniacs of “flushitude”, which I recognize to be part of it, but it also allows a stronger connection in case of a fall for example. The constraint on the connector is much less if the entire base of the dripper rests on the box. And well, frankly, the dripper that stupidly overhangs the box, it’s a task. In short, this detail annoys me, I let you judge for yourself.

In summary

 WE love

  • The quality of realization
  • The lighting of the bottle
  • The readability of the screen
  • Full features

 We do not like

  • The 510 connection is too short!
  • The average electronics
  • The menus are not very intuitive

Conclusion

If you steam exclusively in power control and your drippers do not have a connection too long, you will notice 5/5 the RSQ. Its realization is excellent, the LED of the bottle is practical is it is very pleasant to use. On the other hand, the connection 510 too short can be troublesome, the menus are not very intuitive for the changes of mode for example, and the electronics is disappointing in control of the temperature. An excellent or average box depending on how we use it.

iJoy Diamond VPC Review

Ever wish your pod system had the battery life of an advanced vape mod? Well, your prayers have been answered, as the new iJoy Diamond VPC “pod mod” not only features great battery life compared to virtually all the pod systems on the market today, but it’s also compatible with popular pods, like JUUL or Mylé. So you can now enjoy your favorite pods for a lot longer without worrying about recharging. This could really be a game changer.

A Look at the Contents

It’s been a while since I last reviewed an iJoy kit and the Chinese company has apparently made some changes to their packaging. The Diamond VPC kit comes in this sturdy compressed cardboard box that’s actually more of a fine case and comes wrapped in a sticker mimicking carbon fiber. The wrapper features a picture of the assembled Diamond VPC setup on the front, and a thorough description of the device, a list of kit contents and the mandatory warnings, on the back.

Inside the slick case, we have the iJoy BAE mini mod, sitting next to a Unipod, an atomizer that looks like a tank but is actually a pod holder compatible with the Chinese company’s proprietary pod, as well as several types of pods produced by other manufacturers. At the bottom of the box, you’ll also find a bunch of accessories, including a lanyard, a micro-USB charging cable, a pod adapter for use with various types of pods, a silicone cap for the iJoy VPC pod included in the kit, as well as a user manual for the BAE mod and a warranty card.

It’s nice that iJoy threw in a lanyard, if you’re the kind of person who uses them, but I would have much rather seen a second pod included in the kit. As a beginner or intermediate user, you can easily destroy a pod by simply attaching it to the mod and pressing the fire button for only a second. Once that cotton wicking around the coil is burnt, there’s no getting that burnt taste out no matter how much juice you put in it. So why not include a spare, just in case?

Design and Build Quality

The iJoy BAE mod, which, interestingly, isn’t listed on the iJoy website but is already carried as a pre-order by several online vape stores, is very similar to the company’s Diamond PD270 mod in terms of general design, but considerably smaller and much more modest in terms of features and power output (only 45W).

The BAE is made primarily of zinc alloy, measures only 34mm x 27.5mm x 60mm, and is currently available in 13 different colors, including orange, pink and rainbow. This is an extremely small vape mod that will easily fit into your pocket. It’s also very light, which makes it ideal for vaping on the go.

Compared to most vape mods these days, the iJoy BAE is a bare-bones device, but considering it is aimed at pod system users, it’s actually a good introduction to more advanced vaping devices, should they ever want to move on to mods. It features a clicky fire button, two ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons and a small display that only shows the power output, the resistance of the atomizer, a battery indicator and a puff counter.

The rectangular display looks much larger than it actually is. Only the top third of the display panel is taken up by the screen, with the rest being wasted space, which is kind of disappointing and feels like a wasted opportunity. Underneath the two adjustment buttons we have a micro-USB port for charging – the BAE is not firmware upgradable – on the bottom we have some venting holes for the built-in, non-removable battery, and on the top corner opposite the fire button we have the lanyard adapter, if you want to attach it to the included lanyard.

The menu system, if I can even call it that, can be accessed by pressing the fire button three times rapidly. Here, you are presented with a bunch of operating modes, including Power (for use with other atomizers), Pod (for use with the included iJoy pod), Jewel (for use with JUUL pods, Myle (for use with Myle pods), Juno (for use with Juno pods) and Puff Rst, which resets the puff counter.

Basically, in every mode except the Power mode, the mod sets the exact power output that JUUL, Myle or other pod systems have to replicate the same vaping experience you would get using the original device. You actually can’t adjust the power when you’re in one of these modes, so if you want more control over the vaping experience, just select Power mode.

The atomizer, or Unipod is actually just a metallic holder for the included iJoy VPC pod, or any of the other supported pods. With the iJoy pod all you have to do is align the notches on the pod with the cutouts on the Unipod holder and just stick in there, while withe the other types of mods you have to use the included Unipod adapter, which is very easy to do. Just stick the pod in the rubberized adapter and stick it into the holder.

The iJoy VPC pods look like smaller plastic tanks with built-in plastic drip tips, metallic contacts on the bottom and a small fill port on the side. All you have to do is remove the silicone plug, fill it up with juice, let it wick for a few minutes, and you’re good to go. The VPC pods feature 1Ω ceramic coils, which is a questionable decision on the part of iJoy, considering the controversy regarding ceramic coils these days.

Luckily you can use the Unipod with a bunch of other pods – JUUL, Mylé and Juno are listed in the BAE mod menu, but the iJoy website also mentions Phix pods, so it may actually be compatible with a wider range of pods. This is definitely the main selling point of this device, and truth be told, it’s pretty damn appealing. You can use it with your favorite pods, or experiment with new ones, all while enjoying a considerably longer battery life. What’s not to like?

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Kits.

Battery Life and Performance

The battery life of the BAE mod depends a lot on the set power output, which ranges from 1W to 45W, but what I can tell you is that this device features a built-in 20350 battery rated at 1,400mAh. Considering that the JUUL has a rating of just 200mAh, and very few pod systems on the market are rated at over 450mAh, you can expect very good battery life out of this device.

The only complaint I have about the BAE mod in regards to the battery is that it’s non-removable. I would of had no issues with that, had iJoy not specified that it is actually powered by a cylindrical 20350 battery, the kind you can buy separately and that iJoy themselves sell. So why not make the battery removable, saving me the trouble of having to recharge the mod every time it runs out of power? For some reason, they just thought sealing the battery inside was a better idea, which I don’t agree with.

If it’s any consolation, the BAE mod does have passthrough functionality, so you can vape on it while it is charging.

Performance-wise, I can’t say the iJoy VPC pod is anything to write home about, to be honest. First of all, I’m a lung-inhale vaper, but even if I were to compare it to other pod systems I’ve tried lately, like the Suorin Vagon or Wismec Motiv 2, it just wasn’t a very good vape. First of all, the juice had a funny taste the first few puffs, and even after that, the draw was a bit too airy to mimic smoking a cigarette and way too tight for a direct-lung hit. It was in that weird in-between space that nobody likes.

On the upside, that Unipod system is compatible with lots of different pods, so even if you don’t like the VPC pod, there are plenty of others to try.

Conclusion

The iJoy Diamond VPC scores a lot of points on innovation and accessibility. This is the first device I’ve ever heard of that offers compatibility with competitor’s pods, and I think that alone deserves two thumbs up. The battery life is so much better than virtually all pod systems out there, the build quality of the BAE mod is actually quite nice and it even features working modes for each compatible pod.

On the downside, the iJoy VPC pod really isn’t very good, and the price point for this kit is pretty high compared to conventional pod systems. Yes, I still think it’s worth it in the long run, for the battery life alone, not to mention the possibility to switch pods, but I fear it may be prohibitive for most casual users.

Review : Vaporesso Revenger X kit

The Revenger X kit from Vaporesso is an evolution of the previous Revenger, with excellent touch buttons but a medieval vibrator. A set that is still efficient and pleasant to the vape.

A kit very close to the previous one

For this new version, Vaporesso has added only an “X” in the name of the Revenger kit . This has the merit of being honest, the new version is a small change from the previous one which it takes the essential, not to say almost all.

I invite you to read the review of the kit Revenger first name, to do here only the update Revenger X ergonomics box. For the feigners, the kit Revenger combines a clearomizer NRG and a double 18650 battery box capable of delivering 220 W, it has all the vape modes known in power control as temperature control and was very convincing on the test bench.

No change in the atomizer NRG, which remains convincing between 40 and 80 W, depending on the resistance that is installed in it. On his page, Vaporesso speaks of an improved version, I admit to have felt no difference to the vape, nor more than the general use. This is not a fault, the NRG tank is very good.

Same remark for most of the box, identical to the previous buttons. In a word, remove the buttons of the Revenger and you will have the Revenger X. The electronics is the same, and works identically. The tests I performed on the oscilloscope show traces that are also identical to those published in the test of the previous version.

Technical characteristics

Box revenger X 220W:

  • Dimensions: 45 mm x 89 mm x 28 mm
  • Weight: 138 g
  • Power: from 5 to 220 W
  • Display: 0.96 inches OLED
  • Resistors: from 0.05 to 5 ohm
  • Batteries : 2 18650 batteries not included

NRG atomizer:

  • Diameter: 26.5 mm
  • Height: 56 mm
  • Material: stainless steel, Pyrex
  • Weight: 66 g
  • Capacity: 5 ml
  • A resistance GT 4 0.15 ohm Dual Coils to use between 30 and 70 W
  • A resistance GT 8 0.15 ohm Quad Coils to use between 50 and 110 W
  • Connection: 510

Ergonomics revisited

The big, and indeed the only novelty of the kit Revenger X is the disappearance of the adjustment buttons of the previous version in favor of the touch. The box wins in design, the facade is now completely smooth and uniform. It also gains in finishes, the buttons of the Revenger did not leave an exceptional impression.

It can also be noted that the production line had to be optimized during the trip, the trigger button does not move any more in his home. The difference is minimal, but the box now gives an excellent impression on its realization, as it does not matter. Menus were also slightly modified, not enough to make any noticeable difference.

Touch buttons

The three touch buttons are identified by small black logos both discreet and conspicuous. They are much more spaced than the mechanical buttons of the first version, impossible to press one while thinking to activate another. They are really very responsive and reliable. Just touch one for the corresponding menu to react immediately. No problem if the box is a little dirty or if you have wet fingers, it works every time. If you wear gloves, you have to support a little but it still works as well. A faultless.

The vibrator

To overcome the lack of tactile sensation of the new buttons, Vaporesso had the excellent idea to add a vibrator to the box. The corresponding menu allows you to activate it or not, and to adjust its intensity. Unfortunately, this setting does not change much, the vibration remains strong and almost constant regardless of the setting, unless you disable it of course.

It is especially the vibration itself that is missed. With phones, we are used to a clear, fast vibration, with a real feeling of vibration. On the Revenger X, we feel very clearly a motor that rotates an off-center piece. The vibration is coarse, slow to start or stop, with a flagrant inertia. We feel an apathetic motor that turns when we use the buttons, not a vibration as we are used to it.

It’s subjective, but I quickly disabled this vibrator, especially since it is not essential. The setting buttons are lockable, and the box locks them automatically. The trigger button must be clicked three times quickly to turn them back on. It is a bit restrictive, but it avoids unwanted adjustments. The buttons are reactive even if you have gloves, they are just as in a pocket.

In summary

 WE love

  • Touch buttons
  • Finishes on the rise
  • Ergonomics still improved
  • Full features
  • The balanced recharge 2.5 A
  • The excellent chipset
  • The quality of vape (watts and TC)

 We do not like

  • The low contrast screen
  • The medieval vibrator

Conclusion

As for the vape itself, this Revenger X kit is strictly identical to the previous version. The touch buttons that differentiate them are very well made and perfectly functional. They also bring a net more at the level of finishes of the box. The vibrator is on the other hand anachronistic, worthy of a model of the 1990s. It is always an excellent kit, even better finished and recommended without hesitation.
