Review : Vaporesso Revenger X kit

The Revenger X kit from Vaporesso is an evolution of the previous Revenger, with excellent touch buttons but a medieval vibrator. A set that is still efficient and pleasant to the vape.

A kit very close to the previous one

For this new version, Vaporesso has added only an “X” in the name of the Revenger kit . This has the merit of being honest, the new version is a small change from the previous one which it takes the essential, not to say almost all.

I invite you to read the review of the kit Revenger first name, to do here only the update Revenger X ergonomics box. For the feigners, the kit Revenger combines a clearomizer NRG and a double 18650 battery box capable of delivering 220 W, it has all the vape modes known in power control as temperature control and was very convincing on the test bench.

No change in the atomizer NRG, which remains convincing between 40 and 80 W, depending on the resistance that is installed in it. On his page, Vaporesso speaks of an improved version, I admit to have felt no difference to the vape, nor more than the general use. This is not a fault, the NRG tank is very good.

Same remark for most of the box, identical to the previous buttons. In a word, remove the buttons of the Revenger and you will have the Revenger X. The electronics is the same, and works identically. The tests I performed on the oscilloscope show traces that are also identical to those published in the test of the previous version.

Ergonomics revisited

The big, and indeed the only novelty of the kit Revenger X is the disappearance of the adjustment buttons of the previous version in favor of the touch. The box wins in design, the facade is now completely smooth and uniform. It also gains in finishes, the buttons of the Revenger did not leave an exceptional impression.

It can also be noted that the production line had to be optimized during the trip, the trigger button does not move any more in his home. The difference is minimal, but the box now gives an excellent impression on its realization, as it does not matter. Menus were also slightly modified, not enough to make any noticeable difference.

Touch buttons

The three touch buttons are identified by small black logos both discreet and conspicuous. They are much more spaced than the mechanical buttons of the first version, impossible to press one while thinking to activate another. They are really very responsive and reliable. Just touch one for the corresponding menu to react immediately. No problem if the box is a little dirty or if you have wet fingers, it works every time. If you wear gloves, you have to support a little but it still works as well. A faultless.

The vibrator

To overcome the lack of tactile sensation of the new buttons, Vaporesso had the excellent idea to add a vibrator to the box. The corresponding menu allows you to activate it or not, and to adjust its intensity. Unfortunately, this setting does not change much, the vibration remains strong and almost constant regardless of the setting, unless you disable it of course.

It is especially the vibration itself that is missed. With phones, we are used to a clear, fast vibration, with a real feeling of vibration. On the Revenger X, we feel very clearly a motor that rotates an off-center piece. The vibration is coarse, slow to start or stop, with a flagrant inertia. We feel an apathetic motor that turns when we use the buttons, not a vibration as we are used to it.

It’s subjective, but I quickly disabled this vibrator, especially since it is not essential. The setting buttons are lockable, and the box locks them automatically. The trigger button must be clicked three times quickly to turn them back on. It is a bit restrictive, but it avoids unwanted adjustments. The buttons are reactive even if you have gloves, they are just as in a pocket.

In summary

 WE love

  • Touch buttons
  • Finishes on the rise
  • Ergonomics still improved
  • Full features
  • The balanced recharge 2.5 A
  • The excellent chipset
  • The quality of vape (watts and TC)

 We do not like

  • The low contrast screen
  • The medieval vibrator

Conclusion

As for the vape itself, this Revenger X kit is strictly identical to the previous version. The touch buttons that differentiate them are very well made and perfectly functional. They also bring a net more at the level of finishes of the box. The vibrator is on the other hand anachronistic, worthy of a model of the 1990s. It is always an excellent kit, even better finished and recommended without hesitation.

SMOK Alien 220W styling and build quality

One thing that is really noticeable about the SMOK Alien is its excellent form factor which is surprisingly compact for a dual 18650 device. Everything is nicely rounded and this makes for a very comfortable feel when held in the hand. The shell of the device is made from Zinc Alloy that is then spray painted. The finish is actually rather nice and is stylised by coloured accents, orange in the case of the item sent for review but other colours are available. One side of the device sports a smart carbon fibre style pattern.

The device features three buttons, firstly a squeeze trigger fire button which initially does take a little getting used to and two smaller adjustment buttons located beneath the display. The two adjustment buttons are a little on the small side but they are thankfully rattle free.

The display conveys a lot of information, perhaps a little too much. All of the typical information you can expect is shown but due to the way it is presented it tends to look a little too compacted and cluttered. One slight issue is that the display is not the brightest that I have come across and it can feel a little awkward to read.

The device’s 510 pin is spring-loaded and I had no issues getting my atomizers to sit flush. The 510 connector appears to be made from Stainless Steel and has decent threading.

The SMOK Alien 220W requires two 18650 batteries which are not included. The battery compartment itself features a press and slide lid that is easy to use. The correct battery orientation is clearly marked on the interior and the flip lid battery compartment means that the batteries are really easy to insert and remove.

There is a Micro USB Port on the device that is located directly beneath the two adjustment buttons. It does look a little strange since it is angled at about forty five degrees. You can use the included cable to connect the device to your PC to charge the batteries or simply use an external battery charger. The cable also allows you to download firmware upgrades from SMOK. Weirdly enough the compartment has no major venting apart from a single Micro USB Port shaped hole in the lid. I certainly did not notice any over-heating issues at low Wattage but I did wonder how well it would cope at extreme Wattages so please be mindful and use the best batteries you can get.

SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast Sub Ohm Tank

Included in the box along with the mod is the TFV8 Tank. It has dual adjustable airflow, top filling and a 3ml capacity. Two coils are included, one of which is pre-installed for you. The overall construction of the tank is decent and even though it tends to primarily cater to cloud chasing fans it is a nice extra to have.

Ease of use

The SMOK Alien uses the same style of menu that you will no doubt already be familiar with. It certainly is straightforward enough to get to grips with and the included manual does a thorough job of explaining all of the device’s functions.

While all of the information that you might require is displayed the particular font used and the compactness of the lettering tends to make everything look rather cluttered to read and this isn’t helped by the display which is not particularly bright. Fortunately it is the only thing that I feel lets down this product a little but considering the reasonable enough price of the product you could certainly live with it.

SMOK Alien 220W performance

I am happy to report that I encountered no problems at all when using the SMOK Alien 220W and it performed equally well whether I ran it in Variable Wattage or Temperature Control Mode. The fire button was very responsive and the option is there to adjust for a soft or hard initial ramp up. Temperature Control Mode had no apparent issues and I noticed no heat spiking or Resistance fluctuation. The Temperature Co-Efficient can be adjusted if you wish and the default settings include support for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel wire types.

Battery life was pretty typical of a dual 18650 device and I got almost two days of full use out of it when vaping heavily at low wattage. If you vape at 220W you can expect that battery life to drain extremely fast and I would suggest you only ever try this with 30A rated high quality batteries.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this device when using it is the main screen that I have already mentioned which ideally could be much brighter and better spaced out but providing you aren’t constantly adjusting your settings it is less of an issue. Overall the device worked well and I think that if you bought one you would be very happy with it!

I also tried out the SMOK Micro TFV8 Baby Beast tank included in the box using some Element E-Liquids Apple Acai and I found it made for an enjoyable enough vape. Flavour was pretty decent and the small tank will certainly please cloud chasers considering its generous vapour production. A 3ml juice capacity is fairly reasonable and the top filling system worked well.

I should mention that according to some reports I have read online the first production run of the SMOK Alien 220W had some issues with the fire button responsiveness that was rectified in subsequent runs but I found no such problem with the device that I received for review.

Conclusion

In my opinion the SMOK Alien 220W is a very well built and decent mod that has a really nice form factor considering it takes two 18650 batteries. In terms of performance it works well and I think most people would be very happy with it and I feel that is a very good offering from SMOK.

While it is very similar to other high powered devices out there in terms of operation I do think that if you ideally need something with ease of use in mind and excellent readability then it is certainly worth paying more for the new SMOK G-Priv but if that is not an issue for you then the SMOK Alien 220W will certainly serve you well and the bonus is that it also includes a tank! At the end of the day the decision is yours to make.

SMOK OSUB 80W Baby Kit review

SMOK OSUB 80W Baby Kit

New from SMOK is the OSUB 80W Baby Kit. This product is essentially a slimmed down version of their OSUB Plus Kit. Unlike the OSUB Plus, the Baby does not feature an internal battery and instead requires a single 18650. The device offers up to 80 Watts of power in either Variable Wattage or Temperature Control Modes and has support for all major wire types.

Also included is the TFV8 Baby Tank which this makes this a very attractive starter package for a new vaper. So let’s take a closer look and see exactly what it has to offer you!

OSUB 80W Baby Kit Mod features

  • Zinc Alloy Construction
  • Dimensions: 83 x 37 x 22 mm
  • Weight: 130g
  • Variable Wattage Mode
  • Temperature Control Mode
  • TCR Adjustment
  • Puff Counter
  • Supported Temperature Control Mode Wire Types: Stainless Steel, Nickel and Titanium
  • Requires 1x 18650 Battery (Not Included)
  • Wattage Range: 1–80W
  • Voltage Range: 0.8–9.0V
  • Resistance Range: 0.1– 3.0ohm (Variable Wattage Mode) | 0.06–3.0ohm (TC mode)
  • Temperature Range: 200–600°F / 100–315°C
  • 0.96 inch OLED Screen
  • Spring-Loaded 510 Pin

TFV8 Baby Tank features

  • Stainless Steel, Pyrex Glass and Delrin Construction
  • Diameter: 22mm
  • Height: 53mm
  • Weight: 47g
  • Capacity: 2ml (EU Edition)
  • 510 Threaded
  • Top Filling Hinged Top Design
  • Adjustable Airflow

What’s in the box?

  • 1x OSUB 80W Baby Mod
  • 1 x TFV8 Baby Tank
  • 2 x V8 Baby Q2 0.4ohm Dual Core Coils
  • Micro USB Cable
  • User Manual
  • Warranty Card
  • 2 x vape bands
  • Spare O-rings
  • Spare Juice Inlet

In my opinion this starter kit does come with a decent amount of spares, but ideally I think it would have been nice if SMOK had included spare glass for the tank.

OSUB 80W Baby Kit styling and build quality

What is especially nice about this device is its slim line and ergonomic design. The device feels really comfortable in the hand and thanks to the excellent Zinc Alloy construction it is quite lightweight. The device is available in a variety of colours and has a matte painted and finger print resistant finish.

The 510 connector appears to be made from Stainless Steel and the spring-loaded 510 pin looked to be made from Brass. I had no problems getting any of my atomizers to sit flush but keep in mind if you use anything larger than 22mm diameter it will overhang. Given that the device itself is quite thin it is probably best not to pair it with larger tanks since this could cause it to topple over if knocked.

Just like other SMOK devices the fire button is actually a squeezable trigger bar. Now for the record I have never been a fan of some of these trigger bar mods because on occasion they have been very stiff or tend to stick, but in my opinion SMOK have got this one just right and it feels very responsive when firing. The two adjustment buttons are of a decent enough size and sensibly located with thankfully no noticeable rattle. The Micro USB Port is located on the side of the device directly below the adjustment buttons.

The OLED display is bright and clear with all of the typical information clearly shown including Resistance, Wattage, Temperature, Battery life etc. The battery compartment is accessed via a small latch in the base of the device and the battery needs to be inserted positive side up. The latch seemed to work well and kept the compartment secure and in the time I used never accidentally opened. There is no obvious venting on this device but I would assume it gets some ventilation from the groove around the latch itself.

TFV8 Baby Beast Tank

The included tank is nicely put together and is mainly constructed from Stainless Steel. The tube is made from Pyrex Glass and the juice insert is made from Silicone rubber. The included drip tip is made of Delrin which will minimise the amount of heat that reaches your lips.

The capacity of the Tank is variable depending on where in the world you live. Basically it’s supposed to me 3ml but thanks to the TPD we are stuck with 2ml maximum. Fortunately it isn’t that big a deal since the tank does feature the TFV trademark swing top hinged lid so refilling is quickly accomplished.

There are two airflow slots and the airflow is fully adjustable. At its most open it caters to a direct lung inhale and is a very airy vape. By adjusting the airflow you can reduce that to a slightly restricted lung inhale but I don’t feel it’s suitable at all for mouth to lung users.

Ease of use

One thing you really notice about this device is that it primarily caters to left-handers. Now while you can flip the screen orientation I did find it looks a little odd to me as a right-handed user. This also extends to the adjustment buttons since what I would typically assume was the minus button was in fact the “Wattage Up” button. Of course this is something you will quickly get used to with continual use but it did feel a little weird to me.

  • The Wattage is adjusted in .1 or 1.0 Watt increments. In Temperature Control Mode Celsius is adjustable in 5°C increments and in Fahrenheit in 10°F increments. You can round-robin between Celsius and Fahrenheit in TC mode.
  • Three clicks takes brings up the menu which offers a dizzying array of options: Mode, Puff Counter, Adjust Ohm, TCR, Setting, and Power.
  • Under the Mode function you can toggle between Variable Wattage and Temperature Control Mode with a choice of five different draw strengths and three different supported wire types (Ni200, Titanium, and Stainless Steel).
  • The Puff menu displays your total number of inhales but be aware it does have a limiting function so be sure to switch that off if you are a chain vaper like myself. You can reset the counter at any time.
  • Adjust Ohm allows you to alter resistance of your coil to three decimal places.
  • The TCR mode allows you to adjust the resistance of the current wire type.
  • Other settings allow you to switch on Stealth Mode, change screen contrast, flip orientation and change the screen time out interval.
  • To switch off the device select the power option in the menu or click the trigger bar five times to lock the device and then hold down the trigger for five seconds.
  • When fitting a new atomizer the device will detect it and ask you to confirm if this is a new coil or not before you can vape.

Performance

When the original TFV tanks came on to the market I was certainly very impressed by their extreme cloud production, but not by the required power, juice consumption and also the flavour which I found a bit washed out. The new TFV8 Baby Beast Tank included in this kit is rather different and while it does put out very excessive cloud production (which will delight some users and I actually liked it too), the flavour is actually surprisingly nice being both crisp and clean. Juice consumption for a 2ml TPD compliant tank is something of a potential problem since when vaping the pre-installed 0.4ohm coil anywhere between 40-80W, but given how easy the tank is to fill I didn’t find it that much of a bother. I personally found 45W offered a very enjoyable vape and given that the flavour was really nice I saw no need to put any additional drain on the battery by upping the Wattage.

Sadly both included Q2 Core Coils are 0.4ohm Resistance which as you might expect does put something of a drain on the battery if you are chain vaping. Ideally it would be worth picking up some of the Q2 Core 0.6ohm Coils if you don’t want to drain the battery as fast since they are rated for 20-50W. However as starter kit tanks go I found this one to be very enjoyable!

Of course if battery drain is a serious concern this device would pair up really nicely with an Aspire Nautilus 2 or a decent RTA. I happily used my fairly compact Squape R[s] since the Kayfun 5 was a bit top heavy when fitted.

I had no problems at all when using this device in Variable Wattage Mode and it also worked extremely well when using Temperature Control Mode with my Squape R[s] fitted with a Stainless Steel coil. With all single 18650 battery devices battery drain is always going to be an issue and if you vape often you are unlikely to get through the entire day before swapping one out but then again a spare battery is easy enough to carry around with you.

Conclusion

In my opinion this is a really good and well performing starter kit from SMOK, which is smartly designed and form friendly but do keep in mind the included tank does cater more to the cloud chasing fans. Regardless the tank can easily be replaced with another from your collection.

The only noticeable oddity about this device is that it does tend to feel like it was mainly designed for left-handed users but if you find one at the right price this is still a really good device that is well worth considering.

SMOK STICK X8 REVIEW

In-depth SMOK Stick X8 Review

SMOK is back at it again, with yet another new entry in its already impressive line of great vaping products. This time, the company has brought us a new vape pen that it’s calling the Stick X8. It sells for less than $40 for the kit, which will probably spark a great deal of interest from new and intermediate-level vaping fans, especially for those who are looking for the best e-cigarette to quit smoking with. But what do you get for that moderately-low price? Is the Stick X8 worthy of bearing the SMOK name? And why do certain members of our test team get so excited whenever they hear about a new vape pen offering, anyway? We’ll try to answer the first two questions in this SMOK Stick X8 review. That last question is one that’s better left to the psychologists…

Let’s jump right into this, shall we?

Colors available of the Smok Stick X8

Smok and the Power!

First, let’s stipulate something right out of the gate: we love SMOK. It’s a great company with a great reputation for providing vapers with high-quality, reliable products. Yes, they’ve focused a bit more than we’d like on subtle aesthetic changes in recent months, but that doesn’t mean that they’ve lost a step at all. They’re still one of the most innovative companies out there. So, you can imagine that we had high hopes for the X8, and fully expected it to knock our socks off.

The pen has a powerful 3000mAh battery. You heard that right: 3000mAh.

Impressed yet? You should be. In our tests, this battery provided us with all the power we needed to draw out some really impressive vapor clouds – and its charge lasted for far longer than we might have assumed if we were unfamiliar with that battery’s capabilities. Suffice it to say that SMOK made the right decision on the power front and we have no option to vote it as one of the best vape pens on the market. There are only a few things more annoying than a weak vape pen that spits out negligible spurts of vapor. This isn’t the case with this model though, thank goodness!

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Kits.

The Kit

The Smok Stick X8 KitThe pen comes in a kit, which is always handy to new vapers. After all, who wants to buy a product only to find out that they need three or four other products before they can actually use that first purchase? The kit comes in six different color options and includes a beautiful presentation box decorated in a volcano theme. It includes that powerful battery we mentioned, as well as the X-Baby tank, pre-fitted .25 Ohm coil and a spare coil rated at .13 Ohms. You also get other spare parts, charging cable, manual, and a handy vape band. Not bad at all.

The design is all SMOK sleekness, with a cutting-edge look that puts it a rung above its rivals in the marketplace. It’s 85 mm long, and easy to use. That’s because it has a single button to operate its vaping functions – a common enough design for vape pens. There’s the obligatory LED light as well, to let you know when you need to give it a recharge.

Be sure to read our vape deals this pen and others like it are often on sale!

Performance

It’s a vape pen, so you’re obviously not going to get crazy power from it, but you can get output that ranges from 35 to 45 watts. Most diehard vapers will recognize that they can easily get large clouds of delicious vapor at those wattage levels. That great battery will ensure that you can achieve those clouds throughout much of the day, without frequent recharges and as we’ve already said this is one of the best vaping products around for the intermediate vaper.

For a small device, it’s loaded with safety features as well. For example, there are safeguards to protect against low resistance and low voltage, as well as short-circuits. It’s always nice to know that your device is designed to protect itself and its user, right?

The SMOK Stick X8 laying on its sideThe inclusion of the X-Baby tank is brilliant, in our opinion. It offers a generous capacity of 4 ml and top airflow capability. You can also fill it from the top, which is a tremendous benefit for those who hate the messiness of using bottom-filling products – and that’s just about everyone we know.

In our tests, we had no dry hits, no leakage, and no flooding. Those are all concerns that we’ve had with other vape pens in the past, so it’s nice to see that SMOK focused attention on the smaller details. Quality matters and SMOK delivers – as usual. SMOK have, however, come a long way and their new Smok Resa Stick vape pen, is a much better improvement!

To Conclude

Usually, we find at least one area to criticize, but this vape pen left us completely satisfied. That’s why we have no problem with giving it our highest recommendation. If you’re a pen user and want a product that offers great cloud production and reliable quality, then the SMOK Stick X8 is the right vape pen for you.

Smok H-Priv 2 Kit Review – Snakeskin Vapes

Snakeskin seems to be all the rage nowadays, at least where Smok is concerned. Even the long-awaited successor to one of their most popular kits hasn’t been spared from the almost ubiquitous design. The Smok H-Priv 2 brings back the raw aggressive energy of its predecessor and kicks it up a notch. It’s got the same impressive power output of 225 watts supported by 2 18650 batteries (not included) but this time includes the Big Baby Prince tank into the mix, creating a promising new package that doesn’t only look great but also works well.

Review: H-Priv 2 Dragon

 Smok H Priv 2 Review

Manufacturing Quality

It seems like we’ve begun to witness the birth of a new design trend as snakeskin/honeycomb patterns are making their way to vaping kit. While snakeskin is inherently attractive and downright stunning when done right, it can also look tacky and cheap when wrongly implemented.

Luckily in the case of the Smok H-Priv 2, its a case of the former. The scale patterns are space wide enough so as not to make the overall aesthetic seem to busy, while also letting you better appreciate the wide array of excellently finished colorways that the mod is available in.

In standard Smok fashion, the bundled tank comes in a matching color which gives the entire kit a clean and uniform look.

The Smok H-Priv 2 feels well put together without any annoying wiggle or rattle felt or heard throughout the mod when used or moved about, giving a solid feel which is always sought after in all devices. The firing bar located off to the side of the mod is a bit too wide for my liking, although bigger hands should feel right at home when gripping the device.

Firing the mod feels satisfying and responsive thanks to the tactility and stability that the firing bar offers, and misfires or accidental pressing of the firing bar is a rare occasion if not absent altogether.

The spring loaded 510 connection located at the top of the mod isn’t centered due to it having to make room for the OLED display also located up top. When comparing the display of the Smok H-Priv 2 to the screens of its other high-powered Smok cousins, you might feel that the display is a bit small and underwhelming, considering the dimensions of the mod.

Smok H-Priv 2 available colors

Personally, I’m a big fan of the tiny minimalist display, as this gives a cleaner and more streamlined look to the entire kit which lets me better appreciate the overall design.

The dual 18650 batteries are installed and removed at the bottom of the mod via the trapdoor which securely locks in place. One minor niggle is that I wish there were more battery venting holes just to give me some piece of mind, but for regular operation of the mod, battery ventilation is sufficient.

A surprisingly high-quality micro USB cable is also included with the kit which is used to update the device’s firmware or charge the batteries (although it’s always recommended to use an external charger).

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Kits.

Flavor Quality

Alongside the Big Baby Prince tank, the kit also comes with a V8 Baby-Q4 coil which is pre-installed. Built with quad coils and wicked with all-organic Japanese cotton, the Q4 produces some of the most intensely flavorful vapes to be experienced with pre-built coils.

If you’re more of a cloud chaser, the kit has you covered as well with the inclusion of the T12 coil head consisting of a staggering amount of 12 (twelve!) coils built into the thing, guaranteeing that you’ll be the belle of the ball when it comes to outputting the most amount of vapor.

Take note though that the T12 coil head practically gulps e-liquid so you’ll be refilling the tank pretty often when using these.

Power Flexibility

If vaping on the Big Baby Prince tank isn’t your thing, you’ll have the freedom to use any atomizer with a maximum diameter of 27mm. Anything larger than that and you’re going to get some overhang.

Thanks to the wide atomizer compatibility and the huge power range on the Smok H-Priv 2, you can power pretty much any kind of build your heart desires whether it might be an intense, cloud chasing setup, or a cool and relaxed build.

Aside from the standard variable wattage mod, the Smok H-Priv 2 also supports the entire gamut of temperature coils such as nickel, stainless steel, and titanium. The onboard chipset also supports intelligent atomizer recognition, meaning that as soon as you slap on a new coil build on the mod, the wattage automatically adjusts to the recommended power setting based on the coils resistance.

Basic safety features such as short circuit protection, over-heating protection, and an over discharge protection are also built into the chip preventing any untoward accidents.

Smok H-Priv 2 heating chamber

Ease of Use

Like most devices, the Smok H-Priv 2 is powered on and off by a simple 5 clicks on the firing bar. Further adjustments to the menu or various vaping modes can be made by clicking the firing bar 3 times.

Navigating the menu is pretty straightforward as Smok seems to have taken a simplified and more streamlined approach when it comes to the firmware of the mod, drastically lowering the learning curve making it a relatively easier device for beginners to use.

When it comes to maintenance of the Big Baby Prince tank, filling it up is easy as pie thanks to their refined locking system on the top cap. A simple push of a button on the top cap is all it takes to swivel it open, revealing the fill holes to drip e-liquid into. The tank also carries a good 6ml of e-liquid making frequent refills non-existent.

Portability

It’s hard to dispute the longevity of the Smok H-Priv 2 when taking it out on the field. Thanks to the dual 18650 batteries that power the mod. Going for a full day of heavy vaping is a no-brainer for this kit. But what it has in power and battery life, it slightly sacrifices overall travel ergonomics.

While the Smok H-Priv 2 is comfortable to hold and use while vaping, the same can’t be said when tucking it away for storage in your pocket. It’s wide and thick with a width of 52mm and depth of 27mm, making it one of the least pocketable mods Smok has produced so far.

The mod also has a total weight of 227 grams, and that’s without the dual 18650 batteries required to power the mod, so just keep that in mind when planning to take the Smok H-Priv 2 on lengthy outdoor excursions.

Overall Experience

The Smok H-Priv 2 brings good value to the table thanks to its solid construction, simple design, and powerful performance. While it might not be the most portable of devices, thanks to its bulky dimensions and weight, the battery life more than makes up for it.

Smok Stick Prince Baby kit Review – When Doves Vape

The vape pen has always been considered the cornerstone of vaping, and it’s safe to assume that most if not all vapers who’ve started out have owned a vape pen at some point. It’s probably the reason why Smok continues to make refinements to this form factor even when modern box mods have more or less become the norm. Their latest iteration of a vape pen comes in the form of the Smok Stick Prince Baby, a tiny twig of a device which holds an internal 2000mAh battery.

Manufacturing Quality

Aside from the pentagonal fire button, there’s really nothing much that sets the Smok Stick Prince Baby apart from the rest of the pack. The minimalist route is usually what works best for this form factor and it’s good to see that Smok is adhering to this with its minimal branding and lack of flashy logos and lights.

That doesn’t mean that the mod is boring to look at though, thanks to the wide variety of colorways available for this mod, as it covers pretty much every spectrum available from the rainbow, including the rainbow itself.

Judging from the spartan 510 connection located on top of the Smok Stick Prince Baby, it’s pretty apparent that Smok wants this device to be a good budget option for first-time vapers as they choose their first mod to enter the hobby. The connection is decent, however, and there aren’t any annoying issues when hooking it up with the included TFV12 Baby Prince tank.

The only possible issue with the Smok Stick Prince Baby is that you’re limited to using atomizers with a diameter of 22mm maximum as anything large will produce an unsightly overhang.

Flavor Quality

Like most mechanical or smart mechanical devices, the flavor and vapor quality you’ll be getting are largely dependent on the coils you’ll be using. Luckily, while the Smok Stick Prince Baby might be simplistic in design, it doesn’t skimp on the included coils.

Bundled with a V8 Baby Mesh coil rated at 0.15 ohms and a Baby M2 dual coil with a resistance of 0.25 ohms, the kit gives you a couple of options right off the bat on how you’d like to vape.

It’s important to note that for a smart mechanical mod like the Smok Stick Prince Baby, the output it produces is inversely related to the resistance of the coil, so the lower the resistance of your installed coil, the more wattage gets drawn from the battery and gets pumped into the coil.

Having said that, it’s good to see that the included mesh coils have a relatively low resistance, allowing the mod to produce up to 80-100 watts of vaping power give or take, which should be more than enough for most vapers.

If 100 watts sounds a lot to you (which it is) the dual coil is a good alternative for vapers who’d like a more relaxed vaping experience. Flavor and vapor density is great on either of these included coil heads, so you shouldn’t have an issue getting the performance you want out of this mod. Airflow is sufficiently smooth thanks to the fully adjustable airflow ring at the bottom of the Baby Prince tank which lets you dial in your exact settings.

Power Flexibility

The Smok Stick Prince Baby is a pretty barebones device. This means that you won’t have any of the advanced features that fancier box mods have such as variable wattage, temperature control, adjustable TCR, or pre-heat wattage curves to assist and/or enhance your vaping experience.

On the other hand, this makes the kit a lot easier to use and more accessible for the tech-allergic vaper who hates fiddling with their mod which can be a good thing.

Unlike the other tube or pen-type mods that Smok has released, the Smok Stick Prince Baby doesn’t operate using a fixed wattage. So you’re free to lower or increase the power output produced by installing coil heads of various resistances, allowing you to get the power you want out of this vape.

To sum it all up, you get all the functionality of traditional mechanical mod, without any of the drawbacks to safety, as the mod comes with an extensive set of protections that ensure the safest possible vaping experience.

Ease of Use

The Smok Stick Prince Baby is one of the easier devices to get familiar with. The Prince Baby tank uses a threaded design to remove or install coil heads for easy replacement. There aren’t any complicated menus that might get in the way of what’s a simple and straightforward vaping mechanism.

The tank already comes with a mesh coil pre-installed, so all that needs to be done after unboxing is to fill the tank with e-liquid, click the fire button 5 times to turn it on, and you should be all set to start vaping.

The Prince Baby tank can hold up to 4.5mls of e-liquid which means that you won’t have to refill often. Even refills are a lot easier with this tank as it uses a push-swivel mechanism that makes one-handed refills a walk in the park, a feature which is priceless for vapers who tend to be on the go most of the time.

Portability

The Smok Stick Prince Baby is practically designed and built to fit easily into your pocket. With a height of 137mm (tank included) and a width of 26mm, its easily one of the smaller yet high powered devices in the market today.

The low weight of 133 grams also make the device easy to carry in your pocket or bag without feeling heavy, and the smooth tubular shape makes it easy to slide in and out of your preferred storage solution.

The integrated 2000mAh battery can be a hit or miss depending on the coils installed in the mod. If you opt for the mesh coils that come with the kit, you can expect the need to recharge the Smok Stick Prince Baby at least once a day to get a full day’s worth of vaping out of it. Other higher resistance coils will help extend the lifespan by a huge margin though, so keep that in mind before picking up this kit.

Overall Experience

The Smok Stick Prince Baby does a lot of things right. The small form factor design and the decision to go for a smart mechanical type of operation is the way to go to let vapers decide their desired output without weighing the mod down with a lot of features that most vapers will never use.

Just take note of the rather middling battery life which can get in the way of high powered coil builds as these will inevitably deplete your battery midday requiring you to recharge your mod which can be a pain for some users.
